TourVision turns the photos from a trip into a map video that plays back on your device. This page explains what data the app processes, what stays on your device, and what leaves it.
Three categories, listed in the order of how much detail each one carries.
When the app draws a map, it requests image tiles from Stadia Maps using a per-app API key. The request URL contains the geographic area being shown (tile coordinates) but no identifier tied to you. Tiles are served by Stadia Maps under their own privacy policy.
If you choose Walk, Bike, or Drive routing for a leg, TourVision sends the latitude/longitude of the leg's anchor points to OpenRouteService to compute a road-following path. No identifier and no other photo or trip data is sent. Straight-line routes do not call any external service.
To learn which features are used and whether trips successfully export, TourVision sends anonymous events to PostHog (processed in the European Union).
Each install gets a random UUID at first launch. That UUID is the only thing tying events together — it is not derived from any device identifier and is never linked to your name, email, account, IDFA, or any external identity.

Words you type or say. Two events carry your own words: an answer you give to a survey in the app, and a question or instruction you give the in-app assistant (Ask), typed or spoken. The assistant itself runs on your device, but the text of what you asked is sent to us exactly as you asked it, so that we can see what people need help with. If you name a place, or write anything about yourself, that is part of what is sent. The assistant's answers, the map on your screen and your trip are not sent. Turning analytics off stops this too.
You can turn analytics off any time in Settings → Help improve TourVision. When the toggle is off, no events are sent. To request deletion of an install's already-collected events, email the address below with the anonymous distinct id shown in Settings (we will surface it there in a future build) and we will have PostHog purge them.
After you export a video, the app can offer to host it at a tourvision.com link you can send to people. This never happens on its own: nothing is uploaded unless you tap to share, on that specific video, that specific time. There is no setting that makes it automatic and no way to opt in once for everything.
If you submit, what we receive is the video file itself and an optional title you type. We do not receive your stop names, your coordinates, your dates, or the trip file — only the finished clip, which is the same clip you already have. The video shows your route on a map, so submitting it does make that journey public; that is the point of the gallery, and it is why we ask each time rather than once.
The link works immediately — we do not review it first. The address contains a long random id and the page asks search engines not to index it, so it is reachable by the people you send it to rather than by anyone browsing the site. It is still a public address: treat it like any link you post.
We may review videos afterwards and remove any we would not want on our domain. Sharing one does not transfer ownership — the video stays yours, and you grant us permission to host it. It does not appear in our gallery unless we ask you separately.
Removal: email support@tourvision.com and we will take it down. You do not have to explain why, and we do not keep a copy afterwards. If you have not submitted anything, there is nothing of yours here to remove.
The marketing site uses privacy-first, cookieless analytics — the same PostHog project, processed in the European Union. Because no cookies or local storage are written and no advertising identifiers are used, the site shows no cookie-consent banner.

TourVision is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children.
If this policy changes, we will update the date at the top of this page. Material changes will also be summarized in the App Store "What's New" for the version that introduces them.
